Summary: The Miracle Mile is a tailwater section of the North Platte River, that runs below Kortes Dam/Kortes Reservoir. The Miracle Mile is a very remote destination, so always make sure to bring appropriate gear, food, and water. This section of the North Platte fishes very differently than others. Nymphs and streamers are almost always the go-to tactic. This fishery holds some giant fish, so be prepared with 6, 7, and 8wts.
Fishing Report:
Nymphs and streamers will provide the most success at the Mile. Attractor patterns such as worms, leeches, and large nymphs are the ticket for this month as temps rise. This is a big, deep, and mighty river, so it is important to use heavy nymph rigs to ensure you are fishing the correct depth. Large streamers can always produce trophy trout on The Mile. Again, be sure to utilize split shot or sinking lines to get the flies down to the proper depth.
