Goods for Grades

Students from first grade through senior year of high school can submit their mid-year and final report card to earn JAX Good For Grades Vouchers. Your student can spend them in-store, or save them for something big in the future! Students can earn up to $48 per year.

JAX believes education is a critical part of our future and wants to reward your student for good grades! Family and employee owned, JAX has been giving back to the community since 1955. Education is one of JAX's core values and it has been a part of our company since Marvin and Lola Quinlan started Ames Surplus in 1955. Lola and Marvin worked as teachers before starting the business. Lola received her Master of Arts in Librarianship from the University of Denver in 1953 and was a lifelong learner and lover of books. Lola was the book buyer at JAX for over 20 years, well into her 80's. She founded the annual local author day that JAX hosted for many years.

Students in grades 1-12 can submit one mid-year report card and one final end-of-year report card. The deadlines for submissions are February 28 and August 2. Report cards will only be accepted for the most recent grading period. Students may earn $4 for every "A" grade and $2 for every "B" grade (see scale below for equivalent grading scales), up to 6 core academic classes, twice a year, in the form of a JAX Goods for Grades Voucher. The maximum amount per year is $48. Progress reports are not eligible. JAX will accept report cards issued by accredited schools. JAX will not accept report cards from past years. Vouchers may take up to 2 weeks to be ready for pick-up. Vouchers have no cash value. They can be used towards in-store merchandise only and may be saved up for a later use. No cash will be returned for vouchers. They do not expire but cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
