Summary: Northgate Canyon is a section of the North Platte River located right on the Wyoming/Colorado state line north of Walden, Co. This section of river has striking views, impressive canyon features, and equally impressive fish. Easily accessed from the Routt Access turnout on Colorado 125, both walk/wade and float fishing is viable here. Remember to obtain the appropriate fishing license depending on if you fish the Colorado or Wyoming side!

Fishing Report:

Temperatures are still pretty cold in this part of Colorado, and the river in Northgate canyon will still be fishing like winter. Slower runs will be most productive. A general attractor pattern followed by a more subtle midge or bwo is an excellent choice right now.
